SKQ at Geek Girl Conon August 7, 2012 at 11:00 PM
This weekend I am going to be speaking at Geek Girl Con about gaming with families. I was lucky enough to be asked to join the A Family that Games Together… panel by Mary Sturgeon and her family. The panel description is as follows:
2:30 PM – 3:20 PM
A Family that Games Together… – RM205
Gaming has moved way beyond checkers and Candy Land. Geeky games like Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering have a place in family learning and fun. Meet the Sturgeon family and find out how they use tabletop and RPGs to enhance family life. This panel is geared for families and to keep all those little gamers in audience occupied.
I will be speaking briefly about what gaming with my own family has been like and the impact it has had in my life.
I will also be previewing a very early version of the Sidekick Quests Role Playing Game. I’ll be running a brief encounter for anyone willing to join me (parents with kids would be a plus). I will also be taking names for playtesting which I hope will begin very soon.
If you are going to be at Geek Girl Con I hope you will come by my panel or stop me if you notice me walking the floor. I would love to meet you.
Here is a very small preview of what you might expect from the playtest. All of the stats are hidden and in process until Saturday (but look at the pretty picture!).
